A bus-ferry ride to Masirah Island

Mwasalat, in coordinati­on with the National Ferries Company (NFC), will launch a new route connecting land and the sea from April 20.

The Muscat-shannah-masirah journey will include a ride on Mwasalat buses and a ferry ride to Masirah Island throughout the week.

From Azaiba to Shannah, the adult fare will be RO7.6 and for children, RO5.8.

The bus (except Mondays) will leave Muscat at 8.35 am and arrive in Shannah at 2.15 pm. The onehour ferry trip to Masirah will start at 3 pm.

On Mondays, the bus will leave Muscat at 10.20 am and arrive in Shannah at 4 pm. The one-hour ferry trip to Masirah will start at 5pm.

The return trip (except Tuesdays) from Shannah will start at 4.15 pm and end in Muscat at 10.10 pm.

On Tuesdays, the return trip from Shannah will start at 2.15 pm and end in Muscat at 8.10 pm.

The route provides passengers with the flexibilit­y of starting or ending the journey in other cities without incurring additional costs or using other means of transporta­tion.

The route will start from Azaiba station. It will connect Muscat Internatio­nal Airport, Al Sahwa Tower, Samad Ash Shan and then Sinaw, with the bus journey ending at Shannah Harbour.

Thereafter, passengers will board the ferry to Masirah Island. Return trip will be on the same route. The journey will begin from Masirah Island on a ferry trip and conclude at the starting point at Azaiba station in Muscat.

Passengers can buy or book tickets through the customer service centre or from offices of the two companies or while on the bus.
