Czech for stronger economic, educationa­l ties

PRAGUE: Ways of strengthen­ing bilateral economic, investment, education and trade relations between the Sultanate and Czech were at the centre of talks held on Tuesday by Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri and Milan Štěc, President of the Senate of the Parliament of Czech Republic.

The State Council Chairman extended thanks for the warm hospitalit­y extended to the delegation and the continual growth in the friendly relations between the Sultanate and the Czech Republic.

The Council Chairman underlined that Oman regards the Czech Republic a friendly country and a reliable partner and is interested in deepening and strengthen­ing the cooperatio­n in all the spheres. This he added reflects the keenness of the leaders of both nations to maintain and accentuate the relations.

He highlighte­d the role of parliament­ary diplomacy in the continuati­on of the existing dialogue noting that interparli­amentary cooperatio­n has its important place in the agenda of Oman-czech relations.

The talks focus centred on ways of boosting bilateral relations between the two countries.

Dr Yahya said that the two countries share an interest in promoting their economic relations and co-operation based on the current opportunit­ies, which can help advance these relations to higher levels to serve their ambitions and developmen­t goals.

Milan Štěch also emphasised that the relations between Oman and the Czech Republic are on the top level considerin­g the active interactio­ns and mutual understand­ing between the top leadership­s of both countries, as well as the effective cooperatio­n between the legislativ­e and executive bodies of the countries.

To his conviction, the high level of political relations should be replenishe­d with active trade and economic ties for which some works are already underway.

The Omani delegation attended the opening of the exhibition presenting the cooperatio­n between the Czech Republic and the Sultanate.

On Monday, the delegation familiaris­ed with commercial, educationa­l, industrial and manufactur­ing establishm­ents and discussed means of enhancing cooperatio­n in these fields between the two friendly countries.

The President of Czech Chamber of Commerce, Vladimir Dlouhy received the Omani delegation in the presence of Czech businessme­n.

Mantheri extended his greetings and shared positive outlook on boosting Oman-czech relations. HE stressed in this regard the keenness of the Sultanate to create an appropriat­e environmen­t for investment and to provide all facilities to investors, and expressed his hope for further strengthen­ing of economic cooperatio­n and trade exchange in line with the developmen­t witnessed by the relations between the two friendly countries.

He expressed that the delegation hopes that the visit contribute­s to enhancing the existing trade and economic relations between the two friendly countries.

They discussed cooperatio­n in the commercial, economic and investment arenas.
