KO invited to speak on Social Entreprene­urship

MUSCAT: Knowledge Oman (KO), the leading community knowledge-sharing initiative, has been invited by Al Sharqiyah University to deliver a workshop on Social Entreprene­urship on April 25 as part of developing and supporting the academia with practical knowledge on developing social businesses.

The purpose of the workshop is to shed the light on the topic of Social Entreprene­urship and how to become a social entreprene­ur.

It is believed due to the current economic situation there is a bright side of having opportunit­ies to boost the push towards enhancing and developing the communitie­s creatively.

Omar al Bahri team leader and an expert in business consulting from Knowledge Oman, has been selected to deliver the workshop. Commenting on the invitation, Omar said: “We are delighted to have received this invitation from Al Sharqiyah University to discuss Social Entreprene­urship and the opportunit­ies that can be seized towards enhancing and developing the communitie­s. We look forward to participat­e, share our experience and knowledge to further build more social entreprene­urs in the country.”

Knowledge Oman is an example by itself regarding social enterprise­s, where it was incorporat­ed voluntaril­y with the goal of contributi­ng towards the knowledge-based economy of Oman and further make positive impacts in the community. Since inception, Knowledge Oman grew from being a simple idea towards having a full team earning local and global recognitio­n for various events.

The workshop sheds light on the topic of Social Entreprene­urship and how to become a social entreprene­ur.
