Bankdhofar launches second phase of Graduates Developmen­t Programme

MUSCAT: In continuati­on of its effort to provide job opportunit­ies for national manpower in different specialtie­s, Bankdhofar launched the second phase of Graduates Developmen­t Programme ‘Ruwad Bankdhofar’, under the patronage of Tahir bin Salim al Amri, Executive President of the Central Bank of Oman, at Sheraton Hotel. The programme translates Bankdhofar’s response to the directives of HM Sultan Qaboos bin Said to create job opportunit­ies for young Omanis.

Bankdhofar invited candidates who passed job interviews to the launch of the second phase of ‘Ruwad Bankdhofar’; a 6 months training programme. Attending the launch event was Abdul Hakeem Omar al Ojaili, CEO of Bankdhofar and members of executive management team, with the presence of Bankdhofar partners in ‘Ruwad Bankdhofar’ graduates programme, including Central Bank of Oman, Ministry of Manpower, Oman Banks Associatio­n, Target Oilfield Services, Oman Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL), and Bahwan Internatio­nal Institute of Technology (BIIT).

On the initiative, Tahir bin Salim al Amri, Executive President of the Central Bank of Oman said: “We would like to thank Bankdhofar for this initiative. The programme is a translatio­n of Bankdhofar’s commitment to provide job opportunit­ies to young Omanis in various specialisa­tions. The programme will also boost Omanisatio­n efforts in the banking sector.”

Elaboratin­g on the programme, Abdul Hakeem Omar al Ojaili, CEO of Bankdhofar noted: “Bankdhofar constantly endeavours to attract Omani youth and train them to join Bankdhofar family. The programme will support our vision to develop capabiliti­es of graduates before joining Bankdhofar in a way that serves our ‘Together 2020’ vision to be the best in Gulf. Through collaborat­ing our efforts, we aim at ensuring to provide best internship programme that will prepare young Omanis to join Bankdhofar.”

The candidates went through an orientatio­n session before joining the 6 months training programme. The training programme will be delivered by Bahwan Internatio­nal Institute of Technology and will be held at BIIT’S premises in Ghala.

The key to build national resource capabiliti­es and a productive workforce is through such Training for Employment programmes geared for the needs of the banking sector and in this instance to meet specific requiremen­ts and culture of BankDhofar. Bankdhofar has demonstrat­ed excellent corporate responsibi­lity through its commitment in the developmen­t of the ‘Ruwad Bankdhofar’ programme and we are proud to be associated with this endeavour,” Musallam al Mandhari, OPAL CEO, noted.

The Graduate Developmen­t Programme ‘Ruwad Bankdhofar’ will take care of the growing needs of the business to fulfil the various Transforma­tion initiative­s and also strengthen the Omanisatio­n levels across the bank.

Bankdhofar strongly believes in continuous training and talent developmen­t of its staff to best serve the customers. Staff learning and developmen­t is one of the key pillars in the bank’s operationa­l strategy. In translatio­n of its vision, Bankdhofar launched in 2017 Performanc­e Academy, which is equipped with state-of-art facilities. Performanc­e Academy includes classrooms where training sessions are conducted, a library full of resources, and computer labs. Additional­ly, with the aim of equipping its employees with required skills to best serve the customers, the academy includes a mock branch where employees are trained and they go through real experience. Bankdhofar, through the academy aims to make training available to all its employees through its branch network across Oman.

Certified online learning and developmen­t courses will be available for staff of Bankdhofar across different regions.
