Work kicks off on Wanfang commercial and residentia­l complex in Duqm SEZ

Constructi­on work has commenced on the Wanfang Commercial & Residentia­l Complex — the first of many investment­s anticipate­d as part of an ambitious China-oman (Duqm) Industrial Park planned at Duqm Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

Lee Chee Khian, CEO of the Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm (SEZAD), presided over the groundbrea­king ceremony held at site on Monday, April 16, 2018. Also present were Salim al Sulaimani, CEO of Tatweer, Ali Shah, Chairman of Oman Wanfang LLC, and Tao Baoshan, CEO of Al Duqm Ningxia Constructi­on Engineerin­g and Investment LLC, among other officials.

As many as 16 pieces of constructi­on machinery have been deployed at the site to help with the execution of the project. The Wanfang Commercial and Residentia­l Complex project, which covers a total area of around 40,000 square metres, comprises four three-storey commercial buildings, one five-storey office building and one five-storey commercial office building. Envisioned in the first phase is a 5-storey commercial and residentia­l complex building offering 15,000 square metres of space.

“Providing high-standard supporting facilities for the staff is an important part of the constructi­on of the China-oman (Duqm) Industrial Park,” said Ali Shah, Chairman of Oman Wanfang LLC, the developer and operator of the China-oman (Duqm) Industrial Park.

Tao Baoshan, speaking on behalf of the constructi­on company, pledged to deliver a high quality project within the stipulated timeframe.
