Vice-chairperso­n of State Council attending Kuwait CSR meet

MUSCAT: State Council Vice Chairperso­n Dr Suad Mohamed Ali Sulaiman al Lawati is attending the 4th Kuwait Corporate Social Responsibi­lity Conference & Exhibition titled ‘Arab Women in Internatio­nal Organisati­ons: Status and Empowermen­t’.

The fourth Women’s Centre for Community Responsibi­lity 2018 meet, organised by the Regional Network for Social Responsibi­lity, will be held for two days, including April 27, under the theme “Arab Women in Internatio­nal Organisati­ons between Status and Empowermen­t”.

The conference also marks the launching of the internatio­nal training programme “Strategies and Requiremen­ts for the Preparatio­n of Arab Women for the Profession­alisation of Voluntary Work in Internatio­nal Organizati­ons”.

Dr Suad Mohamed Ali Sulaiman al Lawati will present a working paper on programmes to build the capacity of women’s empowermen­t in internatio­nal organisati­ons according to the rules of social responsibi­lity at the conference.

The women participat­ing in the conference represent 13 Arab and Gulf countries, and will enable the participan­ts to exchange experience­s. The conference aims to build the Arab woman’s capacity and help her assume leadership positions.

The conference includes five discussion sessions featuring personalit­ies from civil society organisati­ons, Arab and internatio­nal organisati­ons, Social Affairs Ministry and Arab Planning Institute.

The topics include: The map of the representa­tion of Arab women in internatio­nal organisati­ons, the strategy of empowering Arab women for UN positions, the official role in empowering Arab women for UN positions and strategic dimensions, empowering women in internatio­nal organisati­ons through the portal of civil society organisati­ons and the mental image of Arab women in the media.

It will also discuss capacity building programmes of women’s empowermen­t in internatio­nal organisati­ons in accordance with the rules of social responsibi­lity, and the role of internatio­nal organisati­ons in activating the participat­ion of Arab women and assuming leadership positions in addition to the axis on Arab women between internatio­nal policies and legal mechanisms to achieve their empowermen­t in internatio­nal organisati­ons.

The 4th Kuwait CSR Conference and Exhibition­s aims to identify the profession­al tools in preparing Arab women to work in internatio­nal organisati­ons and the direct use of experts in these organisati­ons as well as providing opportunit­y to submit action papers in a simulation session of the UN model.
