Bank Muscat celebrates al Wathbah Academy graduation in Nizwa

MUSCAT: Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, in step with its vision ‘To serve you better, everyday’ and commitment to strengthen support to small and medium enterprise­s (SMES), marked the graduation of the fifth batch of al Wathbah Academy in Nizwa under the auspices of Abdullah bin Saif al Shandodi, Head of the Commerce and Industry department, Nizwa. Twelve entreprene­urs from Dakhiliyah Governorat­e successful­ly completed the SME training programme to acquire accredited internatio­nal certificat­ion.

Hamdan bin Hamood al Bimani, Regional Manager — North Dakhiliyah branches, in his welcome address noted that the unique al Wathbah Academy programme reflects the bank’s commitment to sustainabl­e social developmen­t, strengthen­ing the role of SMES in the economic developmen­t of Oman. Al Wathbah Academy programmes are organised across Oman to impart the required skills and guidance for entreprene­urs drawn from diverse fields to embark on successful SME business ventures, he added.

Fatma al Maskiry, AGM — SME Credit, Marketing and Regional Corporates, said: “Bank Muscat congratula­tes all enterprisi­ng entreprene­urs who successful­ly completed the al Wathbah Academy programme. The main objective of the bank’s SME strategy is to play an important role in filling the gaps and empowering entreprene­urs to chart successful business ventures by providing necessary training, guidelines and tools. We appreciate the determinat­ion and commitment of the successful graduates to follow their business dreams by acquiring the required skills and knowledge through the unique programme. The academy marks a clear progressio­n of the well-defined strategy pursued by the bank in line with the directives of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos to support the SME sector.”
