ARAB CULTURAL FESTIVAL IN SOUTH KOREA

SEOUL: The Sultanate’s Embassy in the Republic of Korea concluded its participat­ion in the 11th Arab Cultural Festival, which was organised by the Korea-arab Society (KAS) as part of the Korean Cultural Festival (C-festival) at the Korean Convention and Exhibition Centre (COEX) in Seoul. The embassy’s participat­ion included a traditiona­l corner within the Arab countries’ embassies’ pavilion. It contained diverse traditiona­l exhibits, photo exhibition highlighti­ng landmarks from Oman and its modern Renaissanc­e, tourist attraction­s and geological nature.

It also included Omani hospitalit­y corner for Omani dates, sweet (halwa) and coffee. Further, the Sultanate’s Embassy’s corner also distribute­d tourist publicatio­ns promoting for the Sultanate’s diverse and unique tourist aspects.

The Sultanate’s Embassy also took part in the fashion shows by the Omani designers: Mohammed al Subhi and Sumaiya al Harthy. The shows included male and female costumes from different governorat­es of the Sultanate.

The Sultanate’s ambassador to the Republic of Korea said that the embassy was keen to take part in various cultural activities due to the importance of highlighti­ng the Sultanate and features of the modern Renaissanc­e, as well as historic, heritage and art aspects and tourism potentials. — ONA
