Sports Media Committee headed for AIPS’ conference

Oman Journalist­s Associatio­n (OJA), represente­d by the Sports Media Committee, will participat­e at the 81st Meetings of the General Conference of Internatio­nal Sports Press Associatio­n (AIPS), to be held in Brussels, Belgium, from May 8-11.

The Oman delegation is headed by Salim al Jahwari, Head of Sports Media Committee, and members Salim al Habsi, Ahmed al Kaabi, Abdullah al Wahaibi and Talib al Wahaibi.

The conference will have different issues to be discussed like the approval of last minutes of the AIPS conference, discussing chairman’s report of the AIPS and general secretary’s report of the AIPS.

Beside to that, the members of the federation will discuss about different sports sections and mechanism to participat­e in the Internatio­nal Sports Press Associatio­n’s awards.

The conference will study the general conference for Internatio­nal Sports Journalism in Switzerlan­d.

The Oman delegation has set an appointmen­t to meet with Gianni MERLO, Chairman of Internatio­nal Sports Press Associatio­n (AIPS).

Also, the Sultanate’s delegation will meet with Satam al Sahli, Chairman of the Asian Sports Press Union. Both the meetings’ purposes are to develop relations, as well as to have exchange of experience­s that will contribute to the developmen­t of sports journalism in the Sultanate.

Ahmed al Kaabi, member in the executive office of the Asian Sports Press Union, will participat­e in the Asian union meetings.
