Mwasalat launches new routes from Salalah

-

MUSCAT: Mwasalat has announced the opening of the Salalah-al Mazyouna and Salalah-marmul routes from May 11, to facilitate the movement of passengers within the Dhofar Governorate as part of plans to link provinces of the Sultanate with each other.

The Salalah-marmul route will have stops at Wadi Hareet, Thamrait, Harweel and Marmul.

Passengers can buy tickets from the bus or at the company offices, a statement said.

Mwasalat said it plans to launch city routes in Suhar and Salalah governorates later this year, which will contribute to safe and convenient public transportation and reduced traffic congestion.

Mwasalat recently launched new domestic routes with buses that offered advance safety and comfort features, including free Wi-fi.

Recently launched Mwasalat services include the Muscat – Barka, Muscat – Rustaq, Muscat – Samayil, Muscat – Shannah – Masirah, Muscat-ibriburaimi and Muscatduqm-haima routes.

It is hoped that the operation of public transport services in the wilayats Sohar and Salalah later this year would help in easing the movement within the wilayats by using a safe and convenient means of transportation, as well as reducing traffic jams and rationalising fuel consumption.

Mwasalat confirms its continued launch of new routes during 2018 within the Governorate of Muscat and the various governorates of the Sultanate.
