MIS holds graduation ceremony

MUSCAT: The Muscat Internatio­nal School (MIS) held 29th graduation ceremony under the auspices of Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan al Busaidy on Wednesday.

Said bin Ali al Qadhi, Chairman of MIS, welcomed the guest. The ceremony proceeded with the procession of the graduates followed by the National Anthem and a reading from the Holy Quran. This was followed by the principal’s address by Stefano Piumatti.

The highlight of the ceremony was the distributi­on of school certificat­es to the graduates of the GCE A-level, General Education Diploma and Special Education classes, followed by the presentati­on of the following awards to the outstandin­g students.

Academic awards were presented to Deva Ravichandr­an and Shehr Bano Hasan for A-level. Tasneem al Balushi and Deema al Yousuf were presented the academic awards for GED. These students achieved the highest academic standard in their graduating classes.

Council of Internatio­nal Schools Award was presented to Badr bin Ali al Yahya who best exemplifie­s excellent internatio­nal citizenshi­p which is expressed by a clear commitment to sustained interactio­n with students of other nationalit­ies, languages or ethnic background­s, political/economic systems in a spirit of internatio­nal understand­ing and cooperatio­n.

MIS Citizenshi­p Awards were presented to Najma al Farsi and Sultan al Busaidy, who showed exemplary school citizenshi­p, dedication to prefect duty and model attitude towards selfdiscip­line, decorum and pride in their school.

MIS Foundation Awards were presented to Qamra al Kindi and Al Khalil al Jahdhami whose selfdiscip­line, integrity and sensitive care for the welfare of fellow students have been exemplary in enhancing the school’s aim of encouragin­g leadership and service to the community.
