Imam Jabir Bin Zayd Waqf Establishm­ent launched

The Waqf Establishm­ent aims to subsidise education establishm­ents and help the needy students

MUSCAT: Imam Jabir Bin Zayd Waqf Establishm­ent was launched on Monday at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre by Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani, Minister of the Royal Office.

The Establishm­ent aims at serving human sciences, subsidise the education establishm­ents and centres as well as helping needy students. It also provides its services to needy patients suffering from serious diseases.

In a statement to reporters, Al Numani stressed the importance of Waqf and urged local community organisati­ons and individual­s to contribute to the Waqf organisati­on which will promote social integrity.

On his part, His Eminence Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad al Khalili, Sultanate’s Grand Mufti and General Supervisor of Imam Jabir Bin Zayd Waqf Establishm­ent, said in a speech that all humans need each other because everyone has his own skills and capabiliti­es, therefore they complement each other.

He added that the Islamic Umma needs integratio­n and cooperatio­n for doing good.

The event included a video on Imam Jabir Bin Zayd Waqf Establishm­ent, the importance of Waqf and the idea behind its establishm­ent as well as its vision, mission and values.

The Establishm­ent seeks to serve the Islamic culture by investing in real estate, industry, commerce, agricultur­e and other fields according to the tenets of the Islamic Sharia.
