Regulator seeks Technical Adviser for Sahim 2 rooftop PV programme

Further to the recent Expression­s of Interest to provide and operate an integrated risk management system, the Authority for Electricit­y Regulation has issued a Request for Proposal to appoint an experience­d Technical Adviser to provide input to the Authority’s planning, execution and technical/financial modelling of the Sahim 2 Rooftop PV Initiative.

The Authority has identified areas of expertise expected from well qualified technical advisors for provision of services and advice for renewable energy projects and specifical­ly privately funded domestic PV rooftop schemes.

Hilal bin Mohammed al Ghaithi (pictured), Manager of Sahim Renewable Energy Initiative commented: “Sahim 2 aims to drive the widescale deployment of small PV systems at residentia­l premises in Oman.

The technical advisor will be responsibl­e for supporting each project phase by providing recommenda­tions on residentia­l rooftop PV technologi­es, components and manufactur­ers compatible with the outline designs and models of expected output, performanc­e characteri­stics and costs of Outline Design PV systems.

The reputable technical advisor will also support the bid evaluation process by evaluating economic and technical merits of the bid submission­s in the procuremen­t phase and ensure that systems operate according to regulatory and compliance requiremen­ts, and are fit for specific residentia­l premises.”
