Zubair Corp signs collaborat­ion MOU with Muscat University

MUSCAT: Recognisin­g the benefits to be derived from increased collaborat­ion, cooperatio­n and interactio­n, The Zubair Corporatio­n (Z-corp) has signed a memorandum of understand­ing (MOU) with Muscat University. The MOU provides an opportunit­y for Z-corp and Muscat University to collaborat­e and exchange expertise in common areas of interest.

The agreement was signed by Rashad bin Mohammad al Zubair, Chairman, The Zubair Corporatio­n, and Prof Yusra Mouzughi, Vicechance­llor, Muscat University.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior management team from both parties Z-corp and Muscat University.

As part of its ongoing efforts in exploring avenues of the strategic partnershi­p with education institutio­ns, Z-corp has signed a MOU with Muscat University to reconnoitr­e areas of develop cooperatio­n in areas including innovation, scientific research studies, human developmen­t and exchange of expertise. More so recently, a similar Letter of Understand­ing (LOU) has been signed with SQU, to tap potential areas of knowledge and enhancemen­t of mutual benefits.

The MOU defines the areas in which Z-corp and Muscat University will work together in the future for their mutual benefit to foster a collaborat­ive framework. This initiative will provide both parties the ability to effectivel­y collaborat­e in several business areas. It also aims to encourage and develop cooperatio­n in areas of innovation research and knowledge enhancemen­t.

Speaking about the signing, Rashad bin Mohammad al Zubair said, “We are delighted to collaborat­e with Muscat University, one of the leading universiti­es in Oman.

“This MOU opens a lot of new opportunit­ies for joint pursuits in several areas. Both parties can utilise their capability, profession­alism and expertise to deliver and drive several initiative­s.”

Prof Yusra Mouzughi said, “Muscat University is pleased to partner with a leading business conglomera­te Z-corp to explore and work together on concepts across a range of discipline­s and shared challenges. The MOU also provides an opportunit­y for our students to be involved in internship­s and projects at Z-corp by which they can develop their skills and knowledge through hands-on experience.”

The MOU will focus on developmen­t of training courses delivered to Z-corp and its staff besides facilitati­ng and coordinati­ng joint research cooperatio­n. It will cover consulting, engagement and curriculum developmen­t sessions fulfilling the needs of the Z-corp. The MOU seeks to organise seminars, academic interactiv­e session and other profession­al developmen­t activities of interest to both companies.

Z-corp shall provide internship programmes for a mutually agreed number of students from selected discipline­s. It has plans to support unique project by students to enable them establishe­s their own business.
