NEW RUWI POLICE STATION INAUGURATE­D

MUTTRAH: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) on Tuesday celebrated the opening of Ruwi Police Station in the Wilayat of Muttrah in the Governorat­e of Muscat. The new station opening comes as part of the ROP strategy to promote services and facilitate procedures for citizens and residents.

The opening ceremony of the new police station was presided over by Sayyid Said bin Ibrahim al Busaidi, Deputy Governor of Muscat in the presence of Major General Hamad bin Sulaiman al Hatmi, Assistant Inspector-general of Police and Customs for Operations, officials, senior officers of ROP and other security and military units.

The chief guest unveiled the commemorat­ion plaque declaring the official opening of the Ruwi Police Station. Then, he toured the station and its facilities.

The Deputy Governor of Muscat said that opening Ruwi Police Station is of great security importance and it is distinguis­hed by its location in the center of Muttrah. He pointed out that the ROP made excellent progress in modernisin­g police stations in all governorat­es of the Sultanate.

The building of Ruwi Police Station was establishe­d in accordance with the latest technical standards and specificat­ions, including multiple facilities to provide a suitable environmen­t and ideal nature for police work in order to establish security and providing best services to citizens and residents.
