Oman-india Sports Meet tournament dates announced

Football tournaments to be held as part of the Oman-india Sports Meet (OISM), organised to coincide with Oman’s glorious National Day celebrations and the 70th anniversary of India’s independence, will be held from October 5, 2018 at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, Bausher, according to the main committee.

With 16 teams each for the tournament, the dates for the matches are October 5,12,19 and 26. There will be a grand opening ceremony with a march past of all participating teams dressed in their playing uniforms. The registration forms with basic guidelines and rules and regulations have been distributed through the Indian Social Club Darsait since last Friday. These forms, after duly filled in, should be submitted at ISC Malayalam Wing Office in Ruwi before 8 pm on September 22, T Bhaskaran, Convener, ISC Malayalam Wing, said.

Meanwhile, the last date for receipt of entry forms for shuttle badminton has been extended till today. The forms are available at Indian Social Club Darsait or Malayalam Wing office in Ruwi. Further details can be had from Raghu Prasad, Sports Secretary on 99324384.

The hockey tournament will be held on November 9 and 10 at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex. The entry forms can be collected from Indian Social Club Darsait and Malayalam Wing office in Ruwi. Further details about the game can be had from Javis on 94107695.

Oman-india Sports Meet 2018 is conducted by ISC Malayalam Wing under the aegis of Indian Social Club Oman and Embassy of India and supported by Ministry of Sports, Sultanate of Oman.
