Izki Municipali­ty organises talk on building regulation­s

Izki Municipali­ty conducted a talk under the auspices of Younis bin Ali al Mandhari, Member of Majlis Ash’shura in which Municipal Council members, building contractor­s and consultant­s were also present.

The talk was organised as part of ‘Building and Commitment’ campaign to make people aware of the importance of following the steps and rules of building regulation.

Said bin Mubark al Abri, Izki municipali­ty manager, in his address spoke about the importance of building regulation which keeps up with the present requiremen­ts. He mentioned about the positive of following that which may decrease the amount of negative effects on environmen­t.

Salim bin Zayid al Hinai, Head of Building Permits and Control Department, presented a paper about the goals which the regulation was made.

It contained all procedures that citizens and building workers should follow. He mentioned the sections it includes, general provisions, architectu­ral and technical requiremen­ts of the buildings, sanitation specificat­ions, implementa­tion control and penalties and building permits.

Khalid al Aghabri, Civil Defence of Al Dakhiliyah Governorat­e, explained the rules which consultant­s should follow, and the importance of referring to the Civil Defence in any changes not matching the building plan.

Sultan al Deri, from Oman Gas Company, in his paper talked about roles of the company to protect the extended natural gas pipelines from dangers through organising awareness programmes and campaigns for both private and public institutio­ns.

This enables to develop evacuation plans and proper rescue, and treat environmen­tal damages. The talk concluded with a discussion, and question and answer session from the audience.
