- TAYMORA AL GHAWI MUSCAT, SEPT 18

The Ministry of Sports Affairs has announced the details of the 6th edition of Youth Creations Competition.

This was announced in the presence of Hisham bin Juma Al Sinani, Assistant General Manager for Sports Care and Development in the ministry and Chairman of the Main Committee of the competition, main committee members and supervisors of the competition.

Explaining the the goals of the competition, Al Sinani confirmed about the role of the competition in improving youth work in clubs. He added that the competition aims to activate youth institutional work in the clubs and develop and improve Omani youth abilities.

He said the edition is an extension of the success of the previous editions as the number of participants increased yearly where 44 clubs participated in the competition last year which helped to consider the competition as a cultural, intellectual and artistic mobility in sports clubs and different governorates. This strengthened the role of clubs to be as a community institution which is open to all.

He mentioned that during the workshops and meeting with teams’ head, this year will be different on age categories. While in previous edition there were only two categories, this edition will have three categories. The first category for ages between 10-15 years, second for ages between 16-22 years, and the third between 23 to 30 years. Each age category contains separate competitions.

The first category includes three completions which are poetic declamation, cultural competition, and rhetoric. The second category includes photography, fine arts (drawing), cultural completion, and Sports comment.

The last category includes fine arts (Calligraphy), digital design, Ash’shala Art, theatre competition, short films, and writing poetry.

He also added that the participation is open for both Omani male and females. The participation must be under a club. The participants can participate in one area only presenting a single club. They should not participate in any other competition, and submit work before the first stage deadline which is between October 1 till December 31 as youth committees in clubs specify.

Al Sinani mentioned the three stages of the competition. The first one is on the level of the club and it will begin from October 1 and end on December 31, the second will be between February 1 to 28 at the governorate level, and the last will be between March 1 to 31, 2019 on the Sultanate level.
