Sultanate at WIPO 58th General Assembly in Geneva
GENEVA: The Sultanate participated in the meetings of the WIPO General Assembly at its fifty-eighth session in Geneva and will continue until October 2. The Sultanate’s delegation is led by Ahmed bin Hassan al Dheeb, Under-secretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Al Dheeb who delivered the opening remarks praised the distinguished cooperation relations between the Sultanate and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in light of the Sultanate’s implementation of the operational objectives of the National Innovation Strategy.
He pointed out that the ministry is keen to cooperate with WIPO to find innovative solutions and provide better services through easy and efficient electronic procedures and services available to all in relation to the work of the Intellectual Property Department, which reflects the ministry’s keenness to continuously improve its services.
The Under-secretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry highlighted the Sultanate’s active participation in the various programmes and activities of the Organisation, such as participation in the celebration of the World Intellectual Property Day through a series of events in the Sultanate in the field of intellectual property and the participation of three Omani female inventors to represent the Arab region with a group of inventions in the region. He stressed at the end of the statement the continued positive and constructive contribution of the Sultanate to all the work of the Organisation to achieve the interests of all.
