-

MUSCAT: Oman International Logistic Group (Asyad) on Sunday unveiled four projects which will be hosted at ‘Ibhar’ incubator, the first logistic incubator in the Sultanate which targets startups in the sector.

The initiative is launched by Asyad in cooperation with the Public Authority for SMES Development (Riyada) and Al Rafd Fund.

Of the 91 projects which applied for the slots, four were selected according to a number of criteria including practicality of the project, needs of the market, economic and financial feasibility and the number of jobs that will be generated by the project.

The agreements with the startups were signed by Badr bin Mohammed al Nadabi, Head of the Support Unit of Asyad, and project managers of the winning projects, namely Said bin Salim al Abri from Zakaa Logistics, Qais bin Mohamed al Jadyani from Baskom, Lo’ai bin Juma al Mantheri from We Clean and Jamal bin Saif al Muqbali from Sindbad.

‘Ibhar’ focuses on four main fields in the logistic sector namely services, manufacturing, innovation and the technical field.

The incubator provides the projects with required support to ensure their sustainability such as conducting feasibility studies, providing business, administrative, marketing and technical advice and helping in drafting necessary strategy for each project. It also provides office space for the hosted projects.
