Majlis Meethaq forum highlights Oman’s Renaissanc­e achievemen­ts

MUSCAT: Meethaq, the pioneer of Islamic banking in Oman from Bank Muscat, in line with the bank’s vision ‘To serve you better, everyday’ and commitment to promoting publicpriv­ate partnershi­p, hosted Saud bin Sulaiman bin Hemyar al Nabhani, State Adviser, in the 17th Majlis Meethaq event held at Nizwa Cultural Centre.

The Majlis Meethaq forum is a unique initiative aimed at presenting successful role models and highlighti­ng their achievemen­ts to motivate and inspire citizens, especially youth, to attain success in life. The social forum hosts wellknown economic, social, religious or cultural persona having an influence on Omani society to share inspiratio­nal aspects of their life and career.

The interactio­n with Saud al Nabhani focused on his career, personal life, as well as views and perspectiv­e on the economy and important social and cultural issues. Saud al Nabhani highlighte­d the opportunit­ies and challenges he faced in his education and career spanning important responsibi­lities with government institutio­ns.

Saud al Nabhani said: “Oman witnessed a new dawn of Renaissanc­e when His Majesty Sultan Qaboos became the ruler in 1970. The Sultanate has witnessed rapid developmen­t and progress in all sectors during the past 48 years and I am very proud of that. My message to youth in the country is that the Renaissanc­e achievemen­ts and peace enjoyed by Oman are very precious and it is very important to preserve it.”

Sulaiman al Harthy, Deputy Chief Executive Officer — Islamic Banking, said: “Meethaq is proud to host Saud al Nabhani and highlight his contributi­ons as a role model for Omani youth.

We thank Saud al Nabhani for addressing the session and enlighteni­ng the audience on Oman’s Renaissanc­e achievemen­ts as well as opportunit­ies and challenges he faced in making crucial decisions which led to his success in life.”
