Budding racer from Oman bags Bambino title in Dubai
Shonal Kunimal, a young Class II student of Indian School Ghubra (ISG), finished as the winner of the first round of this year’s Dubai Bambino Cup powered by IAME X30 Championship in the Bambino Category (age 5-8 years old) races that started at the Dubai Kartdrome on Saturday.
Besides achieving the title in the DBC, which consisted of four time trials each of 10 minutes, he achieved the title of ‘the Best and the Fastest’ racer beating his peers after scoring the fastest lap time (1:19:828 sec) of this year’s round at the Dubai International Circuit with Bus Stop.
The races started at the Dubai Kartdrome and consisted of four time trials each of 10 minutes.
Anthony Joe Khalil came to the second position with 176 points and Kareem Azzi in the third position with 158 points. There are another four more rounds of Dubai Kartdrome Cup powered by IAME X30 Championship in this race season. Shonal is reigning overall Champion of 2017/18 UAE Rotax Max Challenge Championship and also runner-up at the 2017/18 IAME X30 Championship in the Bambino Category.
Shonal is happy for this race season 2018-2019 as he is competing in a total of three championships (UAE Rotax Max Challenge, IAME X30 Championship and Dubai Kartdrome Cup Championship) with the total of 19 races.
