EY Oman lift Auditors Cup for fourth time in row
MUSCAT: EY Oman have won the Auditors Cup cricket tournament (inter-audit firms) concluded on November 3 in Oman. This is the fourth consecutive time that EY have won the Auditors Cup.
It was a very well contested and fought tournament between 7 Audit firms — EY, PWC, Deloitte, KPMG, HC Shah, Ibn Hyan and Crowe Horwath. Every individual demonstrated true spirit of teaming and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
First semifinal was played between HC Shah and KPMG. KPMG won the match by 4 wickets. Kaustubh was awarded the man of the match.
Second semifinal was played between EY and KPMG. EY won the toss and chose to field. EY bowlers restricted PWC to 61 runs in 6 overs. In reply, EY achieved their target comfortably with 9 balls to spare. The highlight of the match was 6 sixes in 6 balls by Omar Sarfraz of EY, who was declared man of the match and man of the tournament.
The final was played between EY and KPMG. KPMG won the toss and elected to bowl first and restricted EY to a modest total of 48 runs in 6 Overs. In reply, EY’S bowlers held their nerves and bowled tight line which helped them to bowl out KPMG in 5.5 overs to lift the Auditors Cup 2018 title. Pankaj Gupta from EY was declared man of the match in final.
HC Shah was declared the winners of ladies match played between HC Shah and Crowe. HC Shah won the game by 6 runs.
