MUSCAT: Mohammed Nayaz scored a responsible 54 off 61 balls to see Ernst and Young (E&Y) to an emphatic victory against Basta CT in a B Division match at Oman Cricket astro-turf ground No 1 in Al Amerat.
Ernst and Young set a big total of 185 for 8 in 30 overs thanks to vital knocks by Nayaz, Muhammed Attique (44) and Omar Sarfraz 35). Nazish Mohammed was the pick of Basta bowlers, taking 3 for 41, while Murad Khan and Shihab Said bagged two wickets each. Basta failed to put up a decent fight, folding up for a paltry 132 in 23 overs. Prasad Peruli (40) and Murad Khan (20) were the only notable scorers. Pankaj Gupta bowled brilliantly, taking 3 wickets for only 8 runs. Mohammed Nayaz and Alkesh Joshi picked up two wickets each. Batting first, NBO scored 151 for 6 in 20 overs thanks to a stylish 38 by Maanas Kapoor and unbeaten 30 by Baiju Lawrance. Fazal Khan claimed 2 wickets.
Zubair did well to recover from a disastrous 89 for 5 to surpass the target in 19.5 overs, scoring 152 for 9. Mohsin scored a scintillating 51 while Fazal Khan contributed vital 22.
