Al Hanai selected member of ANOC Ethics Commission
MUSCAT: Shaikh Abdulwahab bin Abdullah al Hanai, Chairman of Oman Dispute Resolution and Arbitration for Sport Committee has been selected as a member of the Ethics Commission of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC). The selection was made at the XXIII ANOC General Assembly held in Tokyo, Japan, from November 27-29, 2018. The setting up of the Ethics Commission within ANOC follows the approval of the ANOC’S Executive Board of the Internal Regulation which allows the establishment of an independent Ethics Commission.
The ANOC Ethics Commission selected for a term of four years consists of seven members, five of whom are independent legally qualified and experienced members representing the Olympic councils in the five continents, a member representing the Athletes Commission and a member representing the ANOC Executive Board.
The members of the ANOC Ethics Commission are Shaikh Abdulwahhab bin Abdullah al Hinai (Sultanate of Oman), Kevin Gosper (Australia), Peter Henry Kerr (Australia), Karo Lelai (Papua New Guinea), Herbert Perez (USA), Deguenon Abdon (Benin) and Dr Jose Pinto Sala (Spain).
It is noteworthy that Shaikh Abdulwahhab bin Abdullah al Hinai was elected as Chairman of Oman Dispute Resolution and Arbitration for Sport Committee following its formation on December 8, 2015 by the Board of Directors of Oman Olympic Committee and was reelected for the post for the current term of office 2017-2020.
