Key players sign up for Meethaq Accelerate Oman SME portal services

MUSCAT: Meethaq, the pioneer of Islamic banking in Oman from Bank Muscat, organised a ceremony to sign up two key players in the SME sector in Oman to avail services offered by Accelerate Oman SME portal. The SME Developmen­t Fund (Inma) and Al Raffd Fund signed memorandum of understand­ing with Thomson Reuters to utilise Meethaq’s Accelerate SME portal services.

The signing ceremony held at the bank’s head office was attended by key representa­tives from respective companies, including Sulaiman al Harthy, Deputy Chief Executive Officer — Meethaq Islamic Banking, Nadeem Najjar, Head of Middle East and Africa — Thomson Reuters, Shaikh Salah al Mawali, CEO of SME Developmen­t Fund (Inma), and Fahad Said al Harthy, AGM — e-services & Quality Assurance at Al Raffd Fund.

Sulaiman al Harthy said: “Aimed at supporting youth and promoting SME developmen­t, Meethaq is proud to welcome two more key players to avail Accelerate Oman SME portal services. As the pioneer of Islamic banking in Oman, Meethaq recognises the immense prospects and potential that Oman offers for SME developmen­t and is committed to supporting strategic developmen­t initiative­s in line with Oman’s Vision 2040 economic blueprint.”

The SME Developmen­t Fund (Inma) was establishe­d in 2014 with the objective of developing entreprene­urship and financing small and medium enterprise­s in the Sultanate. Al Raffd Fund was establishe­d in 2013 as a financial organisati­on aimed to support, encourage and promote entreprene­urial growth among citizens of Oman.

The Accelerate Oman SME portal, developed in partnershi­p by Meethaq and Thomson Reuters serves as a gateway for SMES in the Sultanate. The portal provides start-ups and SMES access to the most comprehens­ive source of business resources, services and funding solutions. The innovative portal is designed to help SMES achieve their business goals and thereby promote SME developmen­t in Oman. The primary objective of Accelerate Oman SME platform is to provide guidance and help for SMES to successful­ly navigate each stage of their business.
