RO 207 million wastewater projects under way in Muscat

The company has also completed the wastewater plant and networks in the Wilayat of Haima (Al Wusta Governorat­e).

The capacity of the plant exceeds 450 m3/day. The wastewater network is 19.9-km long, the treated wastewater network is 5,800-km long and the cost of the project is RO 2.462 million.

In the Nyabat of Al Jebel Al Akhdhar (Al Dakhilyah Governorat­e), the company completed the Sewage Treatment Sewage Plant expansion. The capacity of the plant is 600 m3/ day. The period also witnessed the completion of the Sewage Treatment Plant in the Wilayat of Barka. The capacity of the plant after the expansion is reached 6,000 m3/ day. The wastewater network is 110 km long, the treated wastewater network is 13,500 km long. The cost of the project is RO 11.899 million.

The number of STPS in Muscat Governorat­e is eight with a capacity of 210,650 cubic metres per day. These STPS are connected to wastewater networks with a length of 2,164 km.

The length of existing treated wastewater networks is about 335 km.

Haya Water uses efficient pumps to ensure smooth flow of the wastewater to the STPS in the places where the company faces difficulti­es in terms of gravity. The number of these pumping stations is 38 scattered all over Muscat.

There are also 74,711 inspection rooms all over Muscat Governorat­e.

In order to enhance the In-country Value of Haya Water products as one of the economic principles adopted by the company in its operations, Haya launched the organic fertilizer plant known as “Kala” in 2010 as one of the important production pillars.

In total, the value of assets in Muscat Governorat­e has exceeded RO 929 million to this date.

With regard to the assets in other governorat­es, the number of the STPS is 56, with a capacity of 62,140 cubic metres per day, connected to wastewater networks with a length of 1,000 km. As in the Governorat­e of Muscat, there are approximat­ely 97 pumping stations in the regional governorat­es with the same purpose as mentioned above.

One of these projects under implementa­tion is the north and south of Al Khuwair area project (B3b) which aims to build a wastewater network of 42-km long, treated wastewater network of 9.5 km long, 40-km of fiber optic network.

This project serves about 2,650 housing units and government and commercial establishm­ents. The total number of units that connected till today are 1,050. The project will be completed in the second quarter of 2019. In addition to the above, there is also wastewater and treated water networks in Bausher 1, (B8). The project consists of 23 km of the wastewater networks and 5.7 km of the treated water networks. The project which is expected to be finished in November 2020 will serve 527 housing units and government­al and commercial establishm­ents.

The Royal Office connection is considered as one of the main project which is executing by the company in the wilayat. The project consists of 3 km of the wastewater networks and four km of the treated water. It is expected to be completed in March 2020.

Due to the urban and population growth of this wilayat, Haya Water is working as part of its master plan, on the wastewater project in Al Amerat which consists of 3 wastewater networks and the constructi­on of STP and pumping stations.

One of the most important projects under implementa­tion in this wilayat is the STP (A1) project, which has a capacity of 18,000 cubic metres per day in its first phase and contains modern technologi­es for wastewater treatment and odor control during the treatment process. The project is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2019.
