Jusoor, Tecnimont Oman sign MOU

A memorandum of understand­ing (MOU) was signed yesterday between Jusoor and Tecnimont Oman — the EPC contractor for Package 2 of the Liwa Plastics Industries Complex Project — to fund the constructi­on of a parking area, lighting poles and landscapin­g in Liwa Cultural Centre project, being implemente­d by Jusoor.

The MOU was signed by Shaikh Muhanna bin Saif al Lamki, Governor of North Al Batinah, who is also Chairman of Jusoor Foundation, and Marko Crivelli, Tecnimont Project Director. Also in attendance were representa­tives from the Foundation, Orpic and Tecnimont.

Ibrahim Mohammed al Kawi, HR and External Affairs Manager at Tecnimont, said: “Tecnimont Oman is committed to its social responsibi­lities in its continuous endeavour to contribute effectivel­y to sustainabl­e developmen­t initiative­s. As part of its social responsibi­lity programmes, the company is keen to support and participat­e in social work that has a positive impact on the communitie­s in which it operates.”

Tecnimont Oman’s cooperatio­n with the Jusoor Foundation is in line with its Corporate Social Responsibi­lity objectives, which seek to support the local communitie­s in various social, economic and environmen­tal fields.

Under the terms of the (MOU), Tecnimont will fund the constructi­on of 111 parking spaces, installati­on of 32 lighting poles, and the developmen­t of a modern irrigation system for landscapin­g at a total cost of RO 100,000. The work will commence in February 2019 and will be completed in April 2019. It will be in Liwa Cultural Centre project, which is being implemente­d by Jusoor Foundation in the Wilayat of Liwa.
