MUSCAT: Apollo Hospital Muscat features a specialist diabetologist. Dr Praveen Jeyapathy is a Specialist Diabetologist with over 7 years of experience. He completed his medical graduation from Victor Babes University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Timisoara, Romania in 2005. Later, he specialised in family medicine from Christian Medical College, Vellore, India and underwent his specialty training in diabetology and diabetic foot surgery from the prestigious Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, India.
He has extensive experience in managing patients with all types of diabetes and their associated complications and has been actively involved in various screening and awareness camps both in India and Oman. His additional training in diabetic foot related disorders has helped formulate a successful risk stratification screening programme for all patients. He has delivered lectures (CMES) to doctors and paramedical staff and also has written diabetes related articles aimed at public awareness both in Oman and India. Dr Praveen is a member of EASD (European Association for Study of Diabetes) and has special interests in prevention of diabetes in prediabetic individuals, gestational diabetes, young onset Type 2 diabetes and diabetic wound care. on the role of Director of Implementation and Infrastructure and was appointed as Director of Regulatory Affairs two years later before being promoted to director capability and programme management in 2017. He has been appointed as Acting Chief Technology and Information Officer in 2018. Ahmed holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from Sultan Qaboos University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Hull in the United Kingdom. He is also a graduate of the Leadership and Development Programme from London Business School.
