AS part of its efforts to implement the e.oman strategy for the transformation of the Sultanate into a knowledge-based society, the Information Technology Authority (ITA) launches today, July 31, the 4.0 Digital Trends Forum under the theme of ‘Internet of Things (IOT)’. The event will be held at the Public Authority of Civil Aviation (PACA) in Salalah, under the auspices of Ahmed Hassan al Dheeb (pictured), Deputy Chairman of ITA Board of Directors and Undersecretary of Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

This forum is targeted at public and private sector entities, academics, decision makers and IT professionals. A number of papers will be presented by international and local speakers. Through this forum, ITA aims to disseminate knowledge about the emerging technologies offered by the 4th Industrial Revolution in the IT field, and will champion their adoption in different fields in the Sultanate. The forum will also serve as a platform for discussion and networking among enthusiasts and IT professionals. IN line with its commitment towards the development of the Sultanate through various sectors such as healthcare, education and community development, the Eshraqa Entrepreneurship Academy (EEA) culminated the threemonth long Pre-incubation Program for SMES in Oman. The program, initiated in association with Riyada and National Business Centre (NBC) — The public authority of SME development in Oman, has paved the way for sustainable development through provision of vital tools and financial support to fledgling businesses.

The Pre-incubation platform served as a comprehensive platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to convert novel business ideas into viable business models that have not only strengthened employment opportunities and promoted the culture of entrepreneurship but are also generating revenue.
