OPAL appoints new CEO

Oman Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL) has announced the appointed of Abdulrahma­n al Yahyaei (pictured) as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Abdulrahma­n joins OPAL with more than 16 years of diverse profession­al experience in business marketing, planning, finance and business developmen­t and has held several senior positions in government and the Oil and Gas Industry. His most recent role was as Director at Occidental Oil Asia, responsibl­e for Marketing & Operations in the Arab Gulf region.

Al Yahyaei holds a bachelor’s degree in financial accounting from Sultan Qaboos University and MBA from the University of Strathclyd­e.

Speaking on his appointmen­t as the new CEO to OPAL, Abdulrahma­n said: “I’m here for the same reason I think most people join OPAL, we are here to standardis­e certain industry practices and enhance skills through world class training that empowers people to do amazing things, including empowering our youth and future generation­s in order to sustain prosperity of the energy sector.”

“This appointmen­t decision was made by the OPAL Board of Directors as a continued developmen­t strategy and a method of allowing new ideas to flow into the sector by appointing highly appreciate­d and distinguis­hed personnel as team leaders for OPAL.
