OPAL appoints new CEO
Oman Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL) has announced the appointed of Abdulrahman al Yahyaei (pictured) as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Abdulrahman joins OPAL with more than 16 years of diverse professional experience in business marketing, planning, finance and business development and has held several senior positions in government and the Oil and Gas Industry. His most recent role was as Director at Occidental Oil Asia, responsible for Marketing & Operations in the Arab Gulf region.
Al Yahyaei holds a bachelor’s degree in financial accounting from Sultan Qaboos University and MBA from the University of Strathclyde.
Speaking on his appointment as the new CEO to OPAL, Abdulrahman said: “I’m here for the same reason I think most people join OPAL, we are here to standardise certain industry practices and enhance skills through world class training that empowers people to do amazing things, including empowering our youth and future generations in order to sustain prosperity of the energy sector.”
“This appointment decision was made by the OPAL Board of Directors as a continued development strategy and a method of allowing new ideas to flow into the sector by appointing highly appreciated and distinguished personnel as team leaders for OPAL.
