Oman junior, Olympic football teams join e-training sessions through video calling apps
After the successful experience for many national sports teams having the e-training sessions through the online platforms, Oman U-16 and Oman Olympic football team’s players have also started to use the advanced technology applications under direct supervision of the technical staff of each team.
Oman U-16 team began the first online training sessions on “Zoom” meeting application on Sunday. Coach Hassan al Kassori, the fitness head in the team, supervised the players during the e-training sessions. The national team players will have four sessions during the week and one session will be for 45 minutes and three days for rest. Al Kassori focused during the training on improving the fitness level and strengthen the physical aspects of the players.
The Sultanate U-16 football team is gearing up for AFC Asian Cup Championship which will be held in September in Manama city in Bahrain. The team, which reached the finals for the 11th time in history, had booked their slot in the qualification last September.
Oman’s junior team, coached by the national coach Hilal al Oufi, were placed as runner-up in Group D which clubbed hosts Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Syria teams after earning seven points. Oman was one of the four best second-placed teams alongside Yemen, Indonesia and Uzbekistan from the eleven qualification groups.
Oman Olympic team as well started the e-training sessions through the same application. The Croatian coach Dario Pasetch, is looking for many achievements with the Olympic team in the next period. As per the plan, the Olympic team supposed to take part at the GCC Gulf Games in Kuwait in April. The organisers decided to postpone the event to December due to Covid-19. Coach Dario Pasetch met the national team players twice during domestic camps in February and March at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in
Muscat.
On the other side, many domestic sports associations and committees recently implemented the modern technology communication ways to reduce the impact of technical performance on the players from the wake of COVID-19 outbreak.
Based on the social media channels of many sports associations and committees, the e-training sessions registered positive interaction as many of the team’s players are disciplined about their performance training and continuity on moving with the warm up plan.
A combination of individual and group online training facility is available at the modern technology platforms and that allow coaches to define some individual roles for some players.
Coronavirus pandemic crises opened the floor for many sporting teams to use the new online technology programmes efficiently as it was an essential supplementary tool to continue in the technical preparatory plan.
The crisis is the final wake-up call for a sport which was unhealthy and not sustainable and had reached a point where we need drastic changes
