The Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth and the government health entities are carrying out the vaccination of Oman’s delegation members including the athletes, and officials for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

The OOC said it is keen to ensure the well-being and health of all the Omani participants in the top Olympic event. Moreover, OOC officials followed all the preventive precautions suggested by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the organising committee of 2020 Tokyo Games including completion of the vaccination of all the athletes’ prior arrival to Japan.

Many members of the Sultanate’s delegation received their first dose in first week of June while the second doses were administered three to four weeks later. The rest of Olympic team members got the first dose of immunisation against Covid-19 in beginning of July and will have the second dose ahead of travel to Tokyo by few days. Minimising the health risks of infectious diseases in the Olympics was another aim to get all the team vaccinated.

Also, it is in accordance to the National Vaccination Campaign against Covid-19, which is being run by the Ministry of Health and government medical related entities.
