HM’S visit to usher in a new era of expanded cooperation
MUSCAT: A number of members of the State Council and Majlis Ash’shura, analysts, economic experts and businessmen affirmed the visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will open new and broader horizons
of joint cooperation in various fields thereby contributing to prosperity in both countries by increasing commercial partnership and the exchange of expertise to realise the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 and the Saudi Vision 2030.
They explained that the new phase of the economic, trade and investment partnership between the Sultanate and the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will take advantage of the investment opportunities and economic potentials available in both countries.
Dr Ali bin Ahmed al Issa’ei, member of the State Council, said that the visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the first official visit by His Majesty since he took office, and it confirms the depth of the strong relations that bind the two brotherly countries and their willingness to further bolster their relations.
In comments to Oman News Agency (ONA), Al Issa’ei added that the Sultanate and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia contribute to resolving all the regional issues in a bid to serve the interests of the two brotherly countries and ensure their stability. He stressed that during the visit the two countries will work to establish great economic and investment cooperation and integration, thereby increasing the volume of trade, economic and investment exchange between the two countries.
Dr Abdulaziz bin Amer al Sawa’ee, member of the State Council, explained that the historic visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik will strengthen bilateral relations to achieve the aspirations of the wise leaderships of the two countries as well as translate the directives and objectives of Oman Vision 2040 and the Saudi Vision 2030.
He added that this historic event will enhance trade exchange between the two countries, noting that the visit has a historical dimension and its positive effects will translate into various issues in the region.
Besides, the visit will reaffirm the convergence and consensus of views between the two countries which reflects in the stability and security of the region.
Dr Said bin Mubarak al Muharrami, member of the State Council, said that the focus should be laid on the industries where
raw materials are available in the two brotherly countries with the aim of creating an added value for natural materials and benefiting from these resources, which will provide a competitive advantage with similar industries in other countries, such as industries that utilise various oil products and the mining and metallic industries, adding that focus should be laid on the tourism sector, particularly family tourism, as both countries have many potentials that enable them to develop the tourist industry.
