With the Musandam and Dhofar governorates open for vaccinated domestic and international tourists this season, the authorities have urged travellers to stick to the lockdown rules.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has said all health requirements to enter the Sultanate will be applied to the international travellers arriving at Salalah and Khasab airports.

For international travellers, those who have received two approved vaccine doses have an obligation to wear a Tarrasud+ bracelet and adherence to the institutional isolation for non-omanis and home quarantine for the Omani citizens for seven days.

These rules are effective from 5 pm on Friday, July 9, 2021, until further notice.

All Covid-19 vaccines used in the GCC countries are approved for entering the Sultanate.

Omani citizens and residents of the Sultanate who have received at least one dose of the approved vaccine in the Sultanate (aged 18 and over) can travel on domestic flights to Salalah and Khasab.

Travellers from abroad who have received the two doses of the approved vaccine are also allowed to travel to the two mentioned airports on direct international flights and the international passengers transferred on domestic flights.

The Omani residents of Dhofar and Musandam governorates are excluded from these rules.

GCC citizens may also travel to Salalah and Khasab airports if they have received two approved vaccines.

“There is no change so far regarding the protocols and decisions for those coming to the Sultanate,” the Ministry of Health (MOH) said.

Hotels and furnished apartment facilities in the Dhofar Governorate shall not exceed 50 per cent of their capacity, in addition to the necessity of their strict adherence to all precautionary controls, the authorities said.

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has issued fresh guidelines for hotel and tourism establishments as per new SC decisions.

The use of hotel facilities are limited to in-house guests during the ban period.

Hotel establishments must adhere to preventive measures and not exceed 50 per cent of their capacity.

Hotel and tourist establishments located in Musandam Governorate have been excluded from the closure decision.

Employees working in hotel establishments are allowed to obtain permits from their workplace to pass during the closure period.

GCC citizens can also travel to Salalah and Khasab airports if they have received two doses of approved vaccines
