Over 1,000 needy children to receive free training in finance
Over 1,000 orphans in the Sultanate wll get free training in financial management skills thanks to the Kahateen initiative.
The programme aimed at the rehabilitation of orphans is an initiative of the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, represented by the General Directorate of Orphans and Minors Funds Management, and funded by INJAZ Oman and Al Izz Bank.
“This initiative of ‘Kahateen’ which aims at rehabilitating the orphans comes with the financial foundations that the ministry provides to orphans in the Sultanate to educate them, guide them, help them and teach them the skills of financial management for a better life,” a senior official from the Awqaf said.
These children will be given two years’ training by certified trainers in management and financial planning. They will also get advice, guidance and continuous care from the Injaz Oman Foundation.
“The ministry’s initiative is working to raise the knowledge and skills of orphans enrolled in the training programme so that their future practices in managing and investing their money will be according to the latest practices,” Talib bin Ali al Hinai, Assistant Director-general for Orphans Fund Management and
Investment, said.
This will also help them acquire skills, gain awareness on investment risks, and contribute to the establishment of value-added projects in the economy.
An agreement for this was signed by Dr Mohammed bin Said al Maamari, Under-secretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, Khawla bint Hammoud al Harthy, CEO of Injaz Oman Corporation in the presence of Suleiman bin Hamad al Harthy, CEO of Al Izz Bank recently.
Children who need to be supported can enroll for this unique programme that will help them to understand the fundamentals of investing and groom them as financial planners.
