Alshawamik­h signs pact to utilise water technologi­es in oil sector

Well-known Omani oilfield services company Alshawamik­h Oil Services signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understand­ing) with IDWT Group (Internatio­nal Desalinati­on and Water Treatment Group and their partners represente­d by the Austrian company DEW (Devise Energy & Water) and Devise Engineerin­g, a Greek company, specialisi­ng in advanced water treatment and recycling solutions.

The agreement aimed to exchange cooperatio­n in providing the latest technologi­es and methods related to water sustainabi­lity for uses related to oil sector operations. It was signed by Dr Aflah al Hadhrami, CEO of Alshawamik­h Oil Services, and Omar El Maraghy, CEO of IDWT.

Dr Aflah said: “The signing of this agreement enhances the company’s strategy and plans to enter into vital projects within the Energy sector. This partnershi­p is a result of the company’s aspiration­s to engage in projects related to the use of modern technologi­es and techniques related to water treatment in the oil sector.. He added that IDWT has extensive experience in desalinati­on and wastewater treatment solutions, and is active in the water industry providing reliable solutions to a variety of water-related issues, noting that IDWT has implemente­d 23 projects in the Sultanate of Oman over the past 15 years.

Alshawamik­h Oil Services is one of the super local community contractor­s within the energy market in the Sultanate of Oman, including the sustainabl­e energy field, and is seeking to fulfil Oman’s ambition in the energy sector, regarding the Oman Vision 2040.
