Oman to host semiconductor summit

Represented by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, the Sultanate of Oman will host the International Semiconductor Executive Summits on February 22 and 23. The summit is due to bring together a large number of companies operating in the field from different countries of the world.

Dr Ali bin Amer al Shaithani, the Ministry’s Under-secretary for Communications and Information Technology, said that the summit is part of the National Programme for Digital Economy and that it keeps pace with a drive to realise the goals of Oman Vision 2040 pertaining to the development of digital economy.

This will in turn enhance economic diversification, augment the gross domestic product and provide employment for Omanis, while at the same time localising technology, he observed.
