HIS MAJESTY BEGINS EGYPT VISIT TODAY

PUSH FOR ECONOMIC AND INVESTMENT RELATIONS TO BOOST THE VOLUME OF TRADE EXCHANGE TO REVIEW INVESTMENT POTENTIALS IN OMAN

MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik will go on an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt today, according to a statement issued by the Diwan of Royal Court.

The statement says, “In continuati­on of the historical relations binding the Sultanate of Oman and the Arab Republic of Egypt, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik will go on an official two-day visit to Egypt with effect from Sunday, May 21, in response to an invitation from President Abdul Fattah el Sisi of Egypt.

“The visit reflects the keenness of the two countries’ leadership­s to enhance joint ties. The visit will explore areas of the existing cooperatio­n between the two countries in various spheres that serve the joint interests.

“The two leadership­s will hold a session of consultati­on and coordinati­on on matters that serve the joint Arab action, in addition to discussing the latest developmen­ts at the regional and internatio­nal arenas.

“During the visit, His Majesty the Sultan will be accompanie­d by a high-ranking official delegation comprising HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidy, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, Sultan bin Salim al Habsi, Minister of Finance, Dr Hamad bin Said al Aufi, Head of the Private Office, Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority, Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, and Abdullah bin Nasser al Rahbi, Ambassador of Oman to Egypt and its Permanent Representa­tive to the Arab League.
