Visit opens a new chapter in bilateral relations

The visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to Egypt and his meeting with his brother President Abdel Fattah el Sisi would open a new chapter and a new phase of cooperatio­n

CAIRO: Abdullah bin Nasser al Rahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Arab Republic of Egypt and its Permanent Representa­tive to the League of Arab States, said that the visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to Egypt and his meeting with his brother President Abdel Fattah el Sisi would open a new chapter and a new phase of cooperatio­n relations to the joint benefit of both countries.

Speaking at a press conference held in Cairo on Saturday on the occasion of His

Majesty’s visit to Egypt, Al Rahbi said that His Majesty will be accompanie­d during his visit to Egypt by a high-ranking official delegation comprising economic officials as the two brotherly countries seek to push forward the economic, commercial and investment cooperatio­n and boost the volume of trade exchange.

The ambassador said that during the visit the Omani-egyptian Business Forum will convene to review the investment potentials available in the Sultanate of Oman and the investorfr­iendly atmosphere such as legislatio­ns, regulation­s and infrastruc­ture all of which are designed to attract investment in many sectors including renewable energy and green hydrogen.

The ambassador said that the two brotherly countries will sign a number of agreements and memorandum­s of understand­ing in the economic fields to be added to the existing Mous, agreements, executive programmes and letters of cooperatio­n signed during the visit of the Egyptian President to the

Sultanate of Oman in June 2022.

During the press conference, Al Rahbi called on journalist­s to highlight the facilitati­ons provided by the Sultanate of Oman and the Arab Republic of Egypt to the private sector, the support provided to businesspe­ople and the opportunit­ies and fields of investment in both countries. The ambassador pointed to the common principles contained in the foreign policy of Oman and the Arab Republic of Egypt and their keenness to support everything that would serve Arab causes.
