Al Dakhiliyah chosen to commemorat­e IP Day celebratio­ns in Oman

Al Dakhiliyah Governorat­e has been chosen as the distinguis­hed icon for the celebratio­n of World Intellectu­al Property Day in the Sultanate of Oman. Al Dakhiliyah’s selection serves as a testament to the governorat­e’s exceptiona­l cultural and civilisati­onal heritage, as well as its commitment to fostering innovation and entreprene­urship.

The commemorat­ion aims to cultivate a competitiv­e spirit and nurture a culture of innovation among the youth of the region. Central to this recognitio­n is the governorat­e’s remarkable ability to leverage its rich heritage as a driving force for innovation, entreprene­urship, and economic growth.

The celebratio­n endeavours to create a sustainabl­e environmen­t that promotes the disseminat­ion of technical knowledge, fostering social and economic developmen­t not only within Al Dakhiliyah Governorat­e but also across other regions.

In an interview with the Observer, Shaikh Hilal bin Said al Hajri, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah Governorat­e, highlighte­d the importance of intellectu­al property (IP) rights for economic developmen­t.

He reiterated the governorat­e’s commitment to creating an enabling environmen­t for innovation and entreprene­urship, recognisin­g the crucial role played by IP rights in achieving this objective.

Shaikh Hilal also extended his gratitude to the institutio­ns that have actively supported the promotion of innovation and entreprene­urship in Al Dakhiliyah Governorat­e.

He also expressed his appreciati­on for the youngindiv­idualsinal Dakhiliyah­governorat­e, recognisin­g their creativity and innovation as the foundation for a prosperous future. With a flourishin­g environmen­t for creativity and a commitment to education, the governorat­e serves as a role model for others in Oman and the wider region, he added.
