OMAN AND EGYPT SIGN AGREEMENT ON DOUBLE TAXATION

MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik returned home on Monday evening, concluding an official two-day visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt in response to an invitation from President Abdul Fattah el Sisi.

His Majesty the Sultan was received at the Royal Airport by HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, among others.

Earlier, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik left Cairo, following an official two-day visit during which he met President El Sisi. His Majesty the Sultan was seen off at Cairo Internatio­nal Airport by the Egyptian President.

Meanwhile, His Majesty the Sultan has sent a cable of thanks to President El Sisi following his two-day visit.

In his cable, His Majesty the Sultan expressed his sincere appreciati­on to President El Sisi for the warm welcome and hospitabil­ity.

His Majesty the Sultan lauded the opportunit­y offered by the meeting with the Egyptian President in reviewing the bilateral relations and means of enhancing them in various spheres to serve the joint interests of the Omani and Egyptian peoples.

His Majesty the Sultan prayed to Allah the Almighty to protect President El Sisi and grant him good health, wellbeing and long life to achieve further aspiration­s of progress and prosperity for the Egyptian people.

BOOSTING TIES

Earlier, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik met at his residence in the Qubba Palace in Cairo with President Abdul Fattah el Sisi. During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed areas of cooperatio­n between the two countries and opportunit­ies of boosting them towards broader horizons in a manner that serves the joint interests of the two countries’ peoples. They also touched on several matters of common concern.
