TOP INTERIOR DESIGN TRENDS FOR 2024
The interior design world will certainly embrace character, a connection to nature, and sustainable practices this year. Below are my favourite interior design trends for 2024:
TEXTURED WALLS
Textured walls in interior design have been a popular trend for adding depth, character and visual interest to a space. Various techniques, like textured paint, wallpapers, plaster, stone, wood, or even fabric, can be used to create these textures, offering a unique aesthetic appeal to rooms.
QUIET LUXURY
In 2024, ‘Quiet Luxury’ will be the hot trend in interior design. Innovation and timeless elegance will merge, resulting in spaces that inspire and elevate everyday living. There will be a combination of sustainable materials, discreetly integrated smart technology, and a revival of classic design elements.
BOUCLÉ IS STAYING
Since as far back in furniture design history as 1948, when architect and designer Eero Saarinen upholstered his iconic Womb chair in bouclé, the nubby-textured fabric has proven its staying power.
WALLPAPER IN UNEXPECTED PLACES
I love wallpaper, and I am definitely happy about this comeback. This time, it will mostly be used in spaces that are often overlooked.
ALTERNATIVE SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS
Sustainability has transcended trendiness to become a wider goal for the design industry in an effort to significantly reduce negative environmental impacts, while also enhancing the well-being and spaces of those who embrace it.
SCULPTURAL ART
Wall-mounted sculptures offer so much depth and dimension and are such a great way to add interest to the space.
BOLD HUES
Neutrals and toned-down, calming spaces had their moment, but it’s probably the time for a dose of colour with bolder hues. Deep bold hues can have a significant impact on interior spaces. They can add drama, create a sense of coziness and infuse personality into a room.
STATEMENT TILES
Statement tiles in the bathroom create visual interest and contribute to a distinctive bathroom aesthetic. They can serve as a focal point, adding personality and style to the space.
