Dr Rahma bint Ibrahim al Mahrouqiyah, Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation stressed the importance of this forum as it closely follows the success achieved by the private higher education institutions of Oman in 2024 edition of the “Qs” rankings.

On his turn, Markus Badde, CEO of ICEF explained that the forum seeks to explore opportunities for the growth and promoting international education for scholarship students in the Middle East.

Three sessions were held during the first day of the summit. The first one was on regional visions and the opportunities for universities and scholarships, while the second one was on maximising the value of scholarships in a sustainable way. Meanwhile, the third session was a roundtable themed discussion.

The summit aims to introduce universities in the Sultanate of Oman and the GCC countries as recognised institutions globally.

The event seeks to facilitate cooperation and activate exchange programmes between institutions concerned with scholarships in the GCC countries and international educational institutions. Moreover, it aims at enhancing student exchange and academic opportunities for Omani students and students from the GCC countries.

As many as 100 international educational institutions and more than 150 Gulf government bodies are taking part in the summit, in addition to a number of representatives of relevant private scholarship universities and colleges.
