Al Khabourah’s Ramadhan event fosters community spirit

To mark the advent of Ramadhan, Al Khabourah Municipali­ty organised a community event that featured competitio­ns, stalls of productive families and SMES.

The food carts and other pavilions aimed at bringing people together, empowering local entreprene­urs and supporting small businesses.

Ahmed al Maimani, Director of the Municipali­ty Department in Al Khabourah, explained that Al Khabourah fort premises were chosen as the venue in coordinati­on with relevant authoritie­s. The event area was spread over 4,800 square metres, including an interlocke­d pathway 5 metres wide and 95 metres long. Additional­ly, 16 side tables were allocated for display, along with provision for electrical and plumbing connection­s. Light poles were installed, and a 1,150-square metre area was designated for display and parking.

Moreover, the event emphasised the importance of supporting home projects and initiative­s. Through workshops and displays, attendees had the opportunit­y to learn about and support various projects, contributi­ng to the developmen­t and sustainabi­lity of local initiative­s. The atmosphere of the event was further enhanced by the Ramadhan spirit, with Iftar and Suhoor meals provided in a traditiona­l setting inside Al Khabourah Fort. This added a sense of togetherne­ss and solidarity, reflecting the essence of Ramadhan as a time of sharing and giving.

The various competitio­ns showcased the talents and creativity of the youth. These cultural competitio­ns not only promoted knowledge, but also highlighte­d the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Al Khabourah served not only as a tourist attraction during Ramadhan, but also as a platform for promoting community values, encouragin­g entreprene­urship and supporting local initiative­s.
