ISWK student creates app for book exchange
Touched by the hassles that children face in sourcing books and various other academic resources, a young expat has come out with an app where one can freely exchange books and other study materials for free.
Krish Kamath, a class 11 student of Indian School Wadi Kabir (Cambridge), created ‘Tradereads,’ a communitydriven platform allowing users to exchange books and various other academic resources. It is proving to be a boon for those who wish to get original titles and a relief for those who are concerned about the disappearing book-reading habits of children.
“I found a common problem among students of different ages in accessing used books which resulted in students having to pay absurd prices and bear shipping costs, not knowing their neighbours might have the book they needed,” said Kamath.

To set the ball rolling, it is simple and all the students have to do is to download the app from the Google Play Store or App Store, sign up with their e-mail or number, and one is set to enjoy the benefits of having pre-loved books from across the country and even beyond.
Krish is not only a mobile app developer, but also an AS Level STEM student and Head Boy at Indian School Wadi Kabir Cambridge, who has made a name for himself through both academic excellence and technological innovation.
