Knowledge Oman, the award-winning community knowledge sharing platform, announces its upcoming groundbreaking, the KO Academy, an initiative aimed at bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge taught at universities and practical skills required by the industry, ultimately addressing the critical need gaps for jobseekers in Oman. The KO Academy seeks to equip individuals with specific skills that empowers participants to seize the vast employment opportunities available in the evolving job market.

“We have completed 16 years of our mission on connecting the community with Knowledge. According to recent statistics in higher education, Oman has witnessed a significant increase in the number of graduates over the past decade. While this demonstrates the nation’s commitment to education, it also highlights the emerging challenge of aligning graduates’ skills with the demands of the job market. In response, KO Academy aims to bridge this gap, ensuring that job-seekers possess the skills and competencies required by employers.

“In today’s rapidly evolving world, the employment landscape is constantly transforming, demanding individuals to adapt and acquire new skill sets. Our initiative aims to address this ever-growing demand by providing comprehensive sessions in various fields. Through strategic partnerships with industry leaders, the initiative will offer practical sessions comprising of workshops, conferences equipping participants with specialised skills that are highly sought after by employers,” added Tariq.

This educational initiative aligns with Oman Vision 2040, which recognises education and employment as key pillars for the nation’s sustainable development. By investing in such learning, and development programs, Oman aims to create a highly skilled workforce that can drive economic growth and innovation, contributing to the realisation of the national vision.
