OETC wins Gold Award in Oman Sustainability Award 2024
In recognition of its ongoing achievements and contributions to enhancing sustainability aspects and integrating them into various plans, projects, and operations, and in line with its commitment to achieving the highest standards of quality and sustainability in all vital aspects for a more prosperous and sustainable future for the Sultanate of Oman, the Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) has won the Gold Award category at the Oman Sustainability Awards 2024 ceremony under the auspices of Eng Salim bin Nasser al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals.
This ceremony comes as part of the activities and programmes of Oman Sustainability Week 2024, aiming to highlight initiatives and achievements in the field of sustainability and to promote the efforts of all Omani institutions, encouraging them to align their targets and plans with national visions and goals aimed at preserving and ensuring the safety and security of the Omani environment, as well as achieving global aspirations in environmental areas, carbon emission reduction, and others.
OETC won the Gold Award category at the Oman Sustainability Awards for sustainability achievements in environmental, social, and governance areas. The awards witnessed a substantial competition with the participation of more than 50 institutions from various fields.
Reaffirming OETC’S commitment to sustainability and directing all its efforts and targets in this regard, Eng Saleh bin Nasser al Rumhi, OETC’S CEO, highlighted the company’s adoption of various measures and steps aimed at integrating sustainability into the various operations, in addition to OETC’S commitment to aligning its plans with national plans and global targets.
He also emphasised the company’s commitment to implementing various initiatives and projects aimed at contributing to the preservation of the Omani environment and enhancing its sustainability for future generations.
Al Rumhi added, “We recognise the importance of working within a framework to achieve national targets, visions, and aspirations represented in Oman Vision 2040, which places sustainability among its highest priorities, to ensure sustainable and comprehensive development in various sectors and to build a more prosperous future for Oman and its people.”
