Popular reality show, to be filmed in Dhofar

MUSCAT: a popular TV reality show will take place in Dhofar next year, the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) announced on Monday.

MoT said the filming of the upcoming 10th season of will start on Tuesday.

The 12 children, along with the TV crew have arrived in Salalah on Monday to start the adventures and physical competitio­ns in the southern governorat­e.

The filming will take up to 25 days and it will be broadcast in September 2016 on MBC 3 channel, according to Ahmed Al Marhoon, an official at the promotion department at the Ministry of Tourism.

“This award winning show will promote for tourism in Dhofar and we will make sure to cover all the major attraction­s,” Al Marhoon explained.

Dozens of children of different Arab countries will compete in several challenges and visit various locations in Dhofar during the monsoon season. Winners will be granted free tickets and tours in Dhofar while the losing team will be punished by volunteeri­ng in different charitable activities in the area.

Inspired by the Australian show (Escape from Scorpion Island) the popular kids show is produced by the Middle East Broadcasti­ng Center for the channel MBC 3.
