Buds Public School, Dubai students visit IS Al Seeb
MUSCAT: Indian School Al Seeb (ISAS) recently invited Buds Public School, Dubai for an in-house stay of three days for a Student Exchange Programme to promote mutual learning and knowledge among the students towards acceptance of an array of different cultural and community perspectives.
A contingent of 27 students from Class XII arrived in Muscat accompanied by their PE teacher, Alan D’Souza. The three-day programme was jam packed with hoards of activities, with the objectives of developing the skills of integrating into another group, forming of life-long friendships and sharing of global academic progress and practices, says a press release.
ISAS acted as the warmest and the most cordial host and facilitated their stay with the best of the amenities provided to the guests with utmost precision to details. The students were received very amiably by the staff and student representatives of the host school with chocolates, welcome cards and a bunch of roses.
The interaction session was organised by the Seeb School’s Student Council. The programme began with a prayer song sung by the ISAS choir. Nagesh Kelkar, the Principal of the school, extended an affable welcome to the guest students and addressed today’s generation as a highly informative and confident lot, from whom even the teachers can imbibe good experiences as they are quite aware of their global surroundings and ever inventing newer possibilities. The guests journeyed through the corridors of ISAS’s kaleidoscopic academic year with a power point presentation by Alan Anu Jacob, head boy and Gopika Gokul, head girl.
The choir regaled the audience with a motivating song – Ye Waqtkiaawazhai, filled with patriotic fervour and it forced the students to clap to the beat. The students shared the best practices of both the schools and some of them even found their long lost childhood friends in the group.
They played a friendly football match with the ISAS students which resulted in tying closer knots between both the sides. The students of both the schools were seen exchanging the phone numbers and email ids. Tarun Thomas, the deputy head boy of Buds Public School, thanked ISAS family for being the most amazing and awe-inspiring host.
The students spent their evenings exploring the tourist sites of the city such as Opera House, Grand Mosque, etc. They highly appreciated the pristine surroundings and monuments.
